The company I chose to assist is a local art gallery called One Way Gallery. It is an art gallery which is comprised of all local artists. There are two IT problems I intend to solve. First is their social media marketing. They will occasionally upload pictures of the artwork but are not using it as the valuable marketing tool it is. The second is organization of art pieces that have been sold or are now in storage. There are multiple studio’s that are being used to store work and if it was organized better they could hold more inventory. I picked One Way because I’ve been going there for about 10 years so I’m close with the owner and artists that currently work there. For years I was very active in painting and sculpting so I have a big interest in the work that is produced from the shop. They are located in Narragansett, RI. They do have a website which is kept fairly up to date but could use more pictures to display the current artists work.
Right next door is a restaurant called Crazy Burger. It’s a similar crowd as to what One Way attracts. A fair amount of business is derived from the customers at Crazy Burger so possible co-branding could be beneficial for both companies, they could put artwork in the restaurant or feature it on the menus.
